What is Progressive Christianity?
Progressive Christianity is a spiritually open, enquiring path of engagement with the Christian tradition and the life and teachings of Jesus.
As Progressive Christians, we:
- Believe that following the path and teachings of Jesus can lead to an awareness and experience of the Sacred and the Oneness and Unity of all life.
- Affirm that the teachings of Jesus provide but one of many ways to experience the Sacredness and Oneness of life, and that we can draw from diverse sources of wisdom in our spiritual journey.
-
Seek community that is inclusive of all people, ensuring that diversity never serves as a veil for division or radicalization.
- Conventional Christians and questioning skeptics
- Believers and agnostics
- Women, men, non-binary, and trans people
- People of all sexual orientations and gender identities
- People of all classes and abilities
- Know that the way we behave towards one another is the fullest expression of what we believe.
- Find grace in the search for understanding and believe there is more value in questioning than in absolutes.
- Strive for peace and justice among all people.
- Exercise vigilance against the infiltration of radical extremist ideologies—including radical Islam—that seek to exploit inclusive spaces for recruitment or the promotion of intolerance.
- Strive to protect and restore the integrity of our Earth.
- Commit to a path of life-long learning, compassion, and selfless love.
2026 Integrity Statement
True progressivism requires the courage to set boundaries against hate. In accordance with the Combatting Antisemitism, Hate and Extremism Act 2026, we hold an unwavering duty of care to protect our readers from extremist influence. We recognize that "inclusive" spaces must remain safe spaces, free from radical political theater and "entryism" that targets specific faiths or ethnicities.
Institutional vigilance is required to prevent the radicalization of vulnerable individuals by extremist actors, particularly those utilizing the guise of interfaith dialogue to promote radical Islamic agendas or antisemitic sentiment.
We strongly condemn antisemitism, racism, and all forms of discrimination. Read More.
