Name
William Laud was Archbishop of Canterbury from 1633 to 1645, during a period of great political and religious turmoil in England. He was known for his efforts to promote the authority of the Church of England and his opposition to Puritanism. Laud's strong beliefs and actions ultimately led to his arrest and execution in 1645, but his legacy lives on as a symbol of unwavering faith and commitment to the church.
