Still the Best Place in the World: 26 Reasons to Love Australia

With January 26th upon us, it’s easy to get caught up in the noise of modern divisions. However, a recent piece by broadcaster Richard Glover offers a refreshing reality check on why Australia remains an unparalleled place to call home.

"So many divisions, so much disputation... Yet Australia, I’ll wager, is still the best place in the world."

From the invention of Wi-Fi and chicken salt to the simple civility of merging traffic and free council BBQs, Glover lists 26 reminders of our unique national character. Whether it's our world-class produce, the "Goldilocks" climate, or the fact that you can’t pick a person's social class just by their accent, the story is a celebration of the quirky and the profound strengths of the Lucky Country.

A special thanks to my friend Robyn Short from here on the Gold Coast for sharing this wonderful read with me.
