🌈 Mardi Gras 2026 in Sydney 🎉

As part of our solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, we're sharing a tribute to an iconic film that captures the spirit of pride and self-expression.

🎬 The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994) 🎬
A journey through the Australian Outback with two drag queens and a transgender woman, filled with dazzling costumes, unforgettable music, and heartwarming moments.

In Loving Memory: Maxine Maurine Shield

For the last four days, our social media feeds have been flooded with tributes to Maxine Maurine Shield. The messages have painted a beautiful picture of who she was to our community.

Maxi was a trailblazer, kind, generous, a friend, a mentor, an icon, and possessed a wicked sense of humour. Most importantly, she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

We know the life of a drag queen isn't easy, despite appearances. Behind the glitter and glamour lie countless hours of unpaid work, trials, and heartaches that we rarely see. In the 90s, many drag performers were lucky to receive any payment at all, yet they persevered, dedicating endless hours to shows, costumes, and rehearsals. We were the beneficiaries of their incredible creativity and talent.

Maxi was especially passionate about her community, giving countless hours to fundraising efforts. Her dedication to making our world better will never be forgotten.

It's moments like this when we see our community 🏳️‍🌈 shine. Yes, we have our differences, as all communities do, but when it really matters... we SHINE.

10 years ago today: The NSW Parliament formally apologised to the 78’ers for the role government agencies played in the violent response to a peaceful protest.

As we approach this Saturday’s parade, it’s an important reminder of the role peaceful protest plays in advancing rights, freedoms, safety, and equality.
