Seeking Wisdom in Evening Prayer

JANUARY 2, 2026

"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

— Psalm 90:12

As the sun sets on another day, we are invited to look back not with regret, but with a desire to understand. To "number our days" is not about counting down time in fear, but about recognizing the sacred value of every hour we are given. In the quiet of this evening, we acknowledge that our time is a gift from the Creator.

Take a moment now to breathe deeply. Where did you see God moving today? Perhaps it was in a kind word, a moment of unexpected peace, or even a challenge that forced you to rely on His strength. Wisdom is found when we pause long enough to see these fingerprints of Grace on our daily lives.

Let go of the tasks left undone and the words you wish you could take back. Tonight, we place our unfinished stories into the hands of the One who is outside of time. Rest in the knowledge that your worth is not defined by your productivity, but by your presence in His love.

Peace to those who are far off, Lighten our darkness, Lord...

We come before you at the end of this day, seeking your guidance. Grant us a heart of wisdom that we may live each day with purpose. May your peace guard our hearts as we sleep.
