Following the Light of the World
Your Quick Spiritual Refresh for the Week Ahead
Main Theme
"The Feast of the Epiphany reveals that God’s light is for everyone, beckoning us to follow where grace leads."
Service Summary
On this Epiphany Sunday, we reflected on the journey of the Magi in Matthew 2:1-12. Their story reminds us that God's manifestation in Christ is a gift for all humanity, crossing every boundary and border. We are challenged to have the courage to be seekers, to offer our best to God, and to be willing to return to our daily lives "by another way"—transformed and guided by the Light of the World.
This Week's Actionable Tips
- Seek the "Star" Moments: Be intentional this week about looking for signs of God's presence in unexpected places. Whether it's a kind word from a stranger or a moment of peace in nature, acknowledge these as lights guiding you closer to Love.
- Offer Your Treasure: The Magi brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Ask yourself: what is one unique gift or talent I can offer to someone in need this week? Use your specific "treasure" to brighten someone else's darkness.
- Choose "Another Way": When faced with an old habit or a negative reaction this week, stop and choose "another way"—the way of grace. Let your encounter with Christ change the route you take in your interactions and decisions.
Need a Simple Explanation?
Epiphany is like a "grand reveal" party for the whole world! We celebrate the Wise Men who followed a star to find baby Jesus. The big message is that God doesn't have "insiders" and "outsiders"—His love is like a light that shines for absolutely everyone. Just as the Wise Men traveled a long way to find Jesus, we are all on a journey to find more love and light in our own lives. Once we find it, we don't just stay there; we go back to our lives changed for the better.
"Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." — Isaiah 60:1
May you carry the brightness of the Epiphany star in your heart this week, lighting the path for others to find hope.
