The Cloud of Witnesses
Scholastica, Abbess, was a 6th-century Benedictine nun known for her piety and devotion to God. She founded a convent near Monte Cassino, Italy, where she led a community of women in prayer and contemplation.
An abbess is a woman who is the superior of a convent or monastery, responsible for leading the religious community and overseeing its spiritual and administrative affairs. Scholastica, Abbess, exemplified the qualities of a strong and compassionate leader in her role as the head of her convent.
